Life Insurance Corporation or LIC is a statutory corporation that came into existence on 1st September 1956. LIC’s headquarter is in Mumbai, the largest insurance company in India. Life Insurance Corporation will release the official notification to fill vacancies for LIC assistants in their respective zones soon. In this article, I’ll share some information about LIC Assistant and ESIC UDC job roll and exam preparation.
Pay Scale of LIC Assistant
Once selected as LIC Assistant, the selected candidate will be starting at a basic pay of LIC Assistant Rs.14,435. However, besides the basic pay the employee is also entitled to multiple other benefits such as dearness allowance, travel allowance, house rent allowance, city allowance, medical benefits, and more. The gross emoluments considering all of these comes to around Rs.30,000 per month. Thus, we get the following:
The pay scale for LIC Assistant is 11435-840(1) -17105 – 1030(5) – 15275 – 915(2) – 24645 – 1455(3) – 22255 – 1195(2) – 29010 -1510(2) – 32030– 1610(5) – 40080.
On joining, the basic pay is set at Rs.14,435 per month and the Gross Monthly emoluments comes to Rs.30,000.
Additional allowances and benefits that an employee will be receiving include Dearness Allowance(DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance(CCA), Lunch allowance, Insurance Allowance, and Defined Contributory pension, Gratuity, LTC.
Pay Scale of ESIC UDC
The ESIC UDC pay scale was last updated by the 7th Pay Commission. As per the scale decided the finalised candidates will be receiving their basic pay, allowances, and other benefits and perks. The following provide an overview about the receivable salary as an ESIC UDC:
- The pay scale of any employee of ESIC in the UDC post will be offered a Level-4 pay scale in accordance to the Pay Matrix for civilian employees
- The starting salary is that of Rs.25,500 per month which falls against the pay scale of Rs. 25,500-81,100
- Employees are also entitled to additional benefits that will include Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and few other allowances as per the rules established and updated regularly
LIC Assistant Exam pattern
If you are planning to sit for the LIC Assistant entrance exam, you need to first know the exam pattern and what it covers. The exam will have two phases – the preliminary exam phase and the main exam phase. Aspirants will have to clear the preliminary stage to be eligible for the mains, and finally clear the main exam to be eligible for the job. Each exam has multiple segments and each segment has its own cut-off marks. Candidates need to get the minimum marks in Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, and English or Hindi language in the preliminary exam to be eligible for the main exam. There is no interview conducted.
ESIC UDC Exam Pattern in 2022
The ESIC UDC exam will follow the same pattern as before and will have the same syllabus, which will be available in details in any practice material for the exam. The exam is divided into three phases and the subjects include General English and General Science, Reasoning, General Awareness, and more. How To Crack LIC Assistant or ESIC UDC Exams?
Whether you are attempting to crack the LIC Assistant or the ESIC UDC exam, the overall strategy will remain the same. You need to clear your basics while preparing for the exam. Make sure that you have given loads of mock tests and timed yourself to be able to finish the exam within given time. You need to remember that these exams will have negative marking and hence avoid incorrect answers to the best of your ability. It is always advisable to start with the area you are strongest in so as to cover maximum correct answers within the shortest time possible.
